Believe it or not, Men hairstyles are just as much in demand then women!
Men didn't used to be concerned with their hair, but that changed recently and today, hairstyles have become such a competitive market, that it's becoming hard to stay on top.
More and more men are opting to go for a stylist or someone specialized in men grooming over a simple barber. Along with this trend comes the willingness to pay more for quality hair care products.
These are various common men hair styles:
Burr
The hair is cut to 1/8 inch all over the head. A perfect low-maintenance hair style.
Butch/Buzz cut
Hair is cut with clippers to a uniform length all over the head. A low maintenance style, which can suit thinning hair.
High and Tight
The sides are shaved completely free of hair. The top is generally cut in a short flat top, or buzzed to around 1/7 or inch. The high and tight is a fairly standard cut for US Marines.
Ivy League cut
The back and sides are cut short, about inch (similar to a crewcut). Over the crown, the hair is also cut quite short- the same length as the back and sides, or it may start to get a little longer. From the crown forward, the hair gets a little longer.
Medium Fade
The hair is shaved completely to the skin up the sides and back of the head and then tapered, blended or 'faded' into the length on top. No visible lines in this haircut when properly done. Among US Marines, this haircut would be called a Medium Reg (Regulation).
Low Fade
The hair is shaved to the skin around the bottom of the sides and back of the head and then tapered, blended or 'faded'into the length at the top. No visible lines in this haircut when properly done.
Crew Cut
The hair is cut short on the sides and back with the hair on top graduated in length from the front of the hairline to the back of the crown. The hair on top should conform to the general contour of the head.
Flattop
The hair is cut similar to a Crew cut, except the top is cut to form a flat shape. This style suits most ages and professions.
Faux Hawk
Resembles a Mohawk, but without the shaved sides.
Caeser Cut
Short, horizontally straight cut bangs, named after Julius Caesar. Worn by George Clooney for many years.
Short Taper
The hair on top is slightly longer, while the sides taper quite short around the nape and above the ears.
Classic Taper
Suits any age, lifestyle or profession.
Layer Cut
Shorter sides, slightly tapered, with longer hair on top. Texturized top, cut with a razor. Add gel or wax for a messy style.
Medium Layered
The hair is cut slightly shorter on the sides and back. Can be brushed back with gel for a sleek look.
Graduation
Hair is cut in long layers on top and tapered close around the sides and back. Can be worn messy for slicked back with gel for a formal look.
Shag (Long Layered)
A razor gives the cut a shattered, deconstructred look around the front and sides.
